New Grain Export Terminal Coming To Port of Vancouver

Western Canadian farmers will benefit from a new grain export terminal at the Port of Vancouver.

G3 Terminal Vancouver says the new facility will be state of the art, featuring a rail loop which allows three trains with up to 134 cars to travel and unload while in continuous motion.

It notes not having to detach locomotives and cars means supply chain efficiency will be greatly increased.

On top of that, the terminal will focus on high-velocity receiving and shipping.

The last grain terminal to be built at the port was in the 1960s.

Construction of the 180,000 tonne storage facility will begin in March and should be completed by 2020.
