John Deere has broken into the world of electric vehicles.
Using a concept called Sustainable Energy Supply for Agricultral Machinery, or SESAM, Deere has been able to store the equivalent of up to 402 horsepower.
The electric tractor features two 150 kilowatt motors for heavy towing.
Tesla's highest capacity pack tops out at 100.
Deere and Company says it expects the electric motors will require less maintainance than their diesel counterparts.
They feel they should be able to last longer as there are fewer moving parts.
The electric tractor will be fully unveiled next month at the Sima show in France.
