Funding Available For Species At Risk Projects

There's still time to get in on funding for 2016 projects to protect species at risk.

Cost-share SARFIP dollars are available to those who have built fencing to exclude livestock from sensitive environmental areas, built bat boxes, improved stream crossings, planted trees, or controlled soil erosion.

The Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association says additional species-specific projects can be considered as well.

The association points you to ontariosoilcrop.org to find out if your effort to help species at risk qualifies and how to submit an application to receive funding.

Only projects completed before December 15th will be considered for this year's funds.
