IGC Expecting Higher Wheat, Corn Production

The International Grains Council has boosted it's global total grains production forecasts for 2016-17.

The 2 per cent increase is based largely on what the IGC now expects to be higher wheat and corn production than it had forecast a month ago.

While much of that increase is expected to be taken up by feed use, the Council has increased its forecast for ending stocks by 6 million metric tons.

World soybean production is projected marginally higher than last month's report.

End of season stocks are raised slightly to 29 point 5 million tons.

However, the IGC points out that would be 15 per cent smaller than the ending stocks for 2015-16.
