USDA Says 2016-17 Global Wheat Ending Stocks To Be Record High

The USDA has published it's initial estimates for U-S and world crop supply and demand prospects for the 2016-17 crop year.

The department expects global ending wheat stocks of just over 257 million tons - a record number for global wheat stocks and up 14 point 4 million bushels from 2015-16.

It's projecting global corn ending stocks for 2016-17 to be 207 million tons, down slightly from the 207 point 9 million for 2015-16.

And the USDA says global ending oilseed stocks - which includes soybeans - will come in at just under 77 million tons for 2016-17.

That's down 9 point 5 per cent from the 2015-16 ending stocks.
