Bruce Grocer Among Provincial Foodland Award Winners

A Bruce County store has picked up one of this year's Foodland Ontario Retailer Awards.

The awards recognize efforts to raise consumer awareness about the diversity of fruits and vegetables grown in the province.

Stewart's Town & Country Market in Mildmay is one of the winners in this year's Platinum All Seasons category.

That's specifically for merchandising excellence through three seasonal groupings - spring, summer and fall/winter.

The other thirteen provincial winners in that category included the Metro outlet on Oxford Street in London and the Sobeys on Ira Needles Boulevard in Kitchener.

The Elmira Food Basics store was one of 5 winners in the Gold Creative category.

The Zehrs on Ottawa Street in Kitchener one of four Gold Seasonal award winners.

The Sobeys on Bridgeport Road in Waterloo was among the 34 Silver Award of Merit winners.

The Foodland Ontario Retailer Awards were created in 1987 and are a partnership of the provincial government and 8 Ontario commodity groups, including Ontario Tender Fruit Growers, Ontario Apple Growers and the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association.
