Deere Buying Its Way Into High-Clearance Spraying Market

Deere and Company is moving into the high-clearance spraying equipment market.

Rather than starting from scratch, Deere has acquired majority ownership of Hagie Manufacturing out of Iowa.

Equipment made by Hagie will continue to carry the Hagie brand.

Sales and service for that equipment will be handled by Deere.

Those changes will go into effect over the next 15 months.

A Deere official says this deal gives his company the chance to serve customers who want to extend their window for applying nutrients.

Hagie officials say the Deere connection allows them to reach customers on a global scale.
