Gay Lea Foods has made a couple of moves related to the dairy goat sector.
Gay Lea's members have voted to include dairy goat producers as producer members of the co-operative.
The co-operative has also purchased a minority share in Mariposa Dairy Limited.
Mariposa is located near Lindsay.
It produces goat and sheep cheese using 100 per cent Ontario fresh goat and sheep milk.
Mariposa's product is marketed in Canada and the U-S.
Gay Lea officials suggest these moves further demonstrate the co-operative's commitment to being an active investor and partner in the development of Ontario's dairy goat value chain.
