Beef Day Kicks Of 50th Anniversary Grey Bruce Farmers Week

The 50th anniversary Grey Bruce Farmers Week starts today in Elmwood.

It's beef day, with registration and trade show exhibits opening at 9 a.m..

The keynote speaker at 11 is Leighton Kolk from Alberta.

His topic is 'If Cowboys Carried Guns, There Would Be A Lot Less Cattle In This World'.

The afternoon program includes a presentation from Beef Farmers of Ontario President Bob Gordanier and OPP Constable Kevin Martin on farm vehicles on the roadway.

A panel of the future of the beef industry wraps things up, starting at 3:15.

Tomorrow is Dairy Day.

Grey Bruce Farmers Week runs through to January 12th at the Elmwood Community Centre.
