USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey says the storms hitting the U-S over the past few weeks haven't caused any major problems for farmers.
According to Rippey, the biggest short term problem is stress on livestock and problems getting around in the rural areas.
The USDA reports most of the country's winter wheat crop is under a nice blanket of snow.
The only exception to that is the central high plains region, which has managed to miss out on the storms to the north and the big storm to the south.
Rippey says the snow is protecting the U-S winter wheat from the cold winds and providing needed moisture for the crop.
