Processing Meat Without Licence Results In $10K Fine

A Kitchener-area man has pled guilty on two charges of operating a meat processing facility without a licence.

Michael Koller was charged based on offences which took place in 2013 and 2014.

They involved the smoking and curing of meat products at Koller Farms Meat Products in Petersburg.

According to OMAFRA, those activities require a license to ensure that proper food safety practices are followed in order to protect consumers.

Koller was fined 10 thousand dollars and placed on one-years probation.
