Top Die-Off Concern In Some Western Ontario Corn Fields

Jeff Jacques with Parrish and Heimbecker says there's a real good corn crop across the region this year.

But he is seeing some top die-off in many fields.

Jacques isn't sure whether that's going to have any impact of yield, though.

He suggests we're far enough into the season now - the milk line is coming down the kernel - and the bushels are all there.

There could, however, be some impact on final test weights.

Jacques thinks we may see full maturity or black layer in the corn crop before the end of September this year.

Jacques suggests there are a couple reasons for growers to be spraying pre-harvest in their soybean  fields.
