Agri-Food Trade Alliance Says Canada Needs TPP

The Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance says Canada needs to be part of the Trans Pacific Partnership.

CAFTA's members produce 80 per cent of the country's agriculture and agri-food exports.

President Brian Innes says they also directly employ half a million Canadians.

Innes says it should be clear to everyone that the TPP can be concluded quickly - with or without Canada.

If Canada's not included, he argues our market share in TPP countries would begin to erode.

CAFTA says Canadian officials must prioritize equal access for the country's farmers, producers, processors and exporters to this region to secure our agricultural future.
