Ontario's Former Chief Vet Joins Maple Leaf Foods

Ontario's former Chief Veterinarian is moving into the private sector.

Doctor Greg Douglas is the new Vice President of Animal Care at Maple Leaf Foods.

His resume includes stints with the CFIA and as Chief Veterinary Officer for Saskatchewan before moving to Ontario.

Maple Leaf President and CEO Michael McCain says Doctor Douglas will help the company build a world class animal care program.

McCain says the humane treatment of animals for food production is a responsibility Maple Leaf takes extremely seriously.
