U-S Corn, Soybeans, Quality Behind Last Year

Very little change this week in the quality of the major U-S crops.

69 per cent of the corn is rated good to excellent - same as last week.

62 per cent of the soybeans are good to excellent - same as last week.

And the spring wheat crop condition has slipped 1 point from a week ago to 70 per cent good to excellent.

The USDA says corn is 7 points behind last year, soybeans 11 points and spring wheat even with a year ago.

The department also reports 75 per cent of the U-S winter wheat crop has been harvested - 1 point ahead of the five year average.

Crash in Tilbury claims driver's life
