The provincial government has set up a working group to look at options for the Kemptville campus.
The University of Guelph has decided it can no longer run the campus and is shutting down it's operations there.
Based on recommendations from former federal Agriculture Minister Lyle Vanclief, the new working group will look at what courses and programs could be offered at the campus as well as which organisations could help deliver them.
The focus will be on agriculture and food education.
The Kemptville working group will include representatives from the University of Guelph , the municipality of North Grenville, the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville as well as OMAFRA and the provincial Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
Its report is due late this fall.
Agriculture Minister Jeff Leal says the future of the Kemptville campus must be based on a fully sustainable, sound business plan.
