Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz is in Washington this week to push for the repeal of COOL measures on beef and pork.
He'll be joined by representatives from the Canadian Cattlemen's Association, the Canadian Pork Council and the Canadian Meat Council.
They'll be meeting with key members of Congress and U-S industry groups.
Ritz points out the WTO has repeatedly ruled that COOL is causing serious harm to the integrated North American beef and pork sectors.
He says they'll be making it clear to U-S officials this week that COOL must be repealed quickly or the Americans will face trade retaliation.
