The Canadian Dairy Commission Board of Directors has a new Chair.
Alistair Johnston has been appointed by Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz.
Johnston has provided technical and strategic assistance to dairy and food manufacturing enterprises domestically and international over the past several years.
His resume includes some time with Dairyworld Foods.
The man he replaces - Randy Williamson - had also spent some time at Dairyworld.
Williamson has been chair of the commission since 2007.
The Canadian Dairy Commission co-ordinates federal and provincial dairy policies and serves as a control mechanism for stabilizing Canadian milk production and revenues.
