U-S Corn Planting Continues To Drop

The USDA says American farmers are now expected to plant their lowest corn acreage since 2010.

Today's planting intentions report puts the 2015 corn acreage at an estimated 89 point 2 million acres, down 2 per cent from last year.

If that's what actually goes in the ground, the USDA says it would be the third straight year of corn acreage decline.

U-S farmers are expecting to plant a record high 84 point 6 million acres of soybeans - up 1 per cent from last year.

All wheat planting is estimated at 55 point 4 million acres, down 3 per cent from 2014.
