The latest University of Missouri hog outlook reports lower prices and higher volumes for U-S hogs last week.
The Friday morning pork cutout value of 67.74 per hundredweight was down 84 cents from the week before and almost 55 dollars lower than a year ago.
The negotiated carcass price for plant delivered hogs in the U-S last week was 60.64 per hundredweight.
That's more than 3 dollars lower than a week ago - almost 51 dollars lower than a year ago - and the eighth straight week it's gone down.
The University's Ron Plain reports U-S hog slaughter of just over 2 point 2 million head was up 0 point 2 per cent from the previous week.
It was 10 per cent higher than a year ago.
Plain says last week was the eighth straight week that the U-S reported larger hog slaughter than for the same period in 2014.
