Cost-share Funding Deadline For 2 Environment-Linked Programs Coming Up

The deadline for cost-share funding for two programs aimed at farmers along the southeast shores of the Lake Huron watershed and the Lake Erie basin is coming up fast.

The Manure and Biosolids Management Program is geared towards custom manure and/or biosolids applicators working in the area.

It offers 75 per cent funding - up to 25 thousand dollars per business - to help implement one or more Best Management Practices.

That could include modifying existing equipment for injection applications.

The other program - the Dust Deflector Program - will cover 75 per cent of the cost, up to 3 thousand dollars, of installing dust deflectors on vacuum planters.

The deadline for both programs is March 31st.

Funding is retroactive to April 1st of last year for activities that took place last season and over the winter.

Applications will be approved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Information is available through the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association website.
