A new way for smaller farmers in Grey County to market their produce is now up and running.
The Grey County Chefs' Forum has opened what they call the Hub.
The Chefs' Forum was created to directly connect local farmers with chefs in the G-T-A.
Coordinator Linda Reader explains the Hub is a location in Flesherton where farmers can drop of their goods which will then be delivered to restaurants, "Farmers can't really be driving around, they're farming and chefs are too busy to go darting around themselves so we've just facilitated that movement and that relationship between farmers and chefs."
The Hub has coolers and freezers to ensure proper handling of the produce which is picked up twice a week for delivery.
There are currently about 50 farmers and 40 chefs registered with the Chefs' Forum.
The Flesherton Hub and the Chefs' Forum gets financial assistance from Grey County as well as the Greenbelt Fund.
