Suspect arrested after social media posts about porch pirates

A 30-year-old Wallaceburg woman won't have to walk the plank, but she will have to show up for a future court date after Chatham-Kent police saw some posts online about porch pirates in Wallaceburg.

Police said an officer saw the posts on social media raising concerns about someone stealing delivery packages in town and recognized one of the suspects.

Officers were able to track down that suspect, arrested her, and charged her with possession of stolen property.

She was later released from custody with a future court date.

Police looking for vehicle involved in collision in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent police are looking for a red Ford Fusion vehicle that was involved in a crash in Tilbury Monday morning.

Police said the vehicle allegedly hit a passing tanker truck on Queen Street North and Mill Street in Tilbury at around 10 a.m. Monday.

Officers said the car had damage to the rear of the vehicle and that the driver did not stay at the scene.

Traffic stop leads to multiple charges

A 29-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing a number of charges after being pulled over by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

OPP said that a vehicle travelling north on Centre Road near Schoolhouse Line triggered an officer's automated licence plate reader on Monday night.

After pulling the vehicle over, investigators laid several charges on the driver including driving while under suspension and driving without insurance.

Wallaceburg man arrested for violating curfew

A 28-year-old Wallaceburg man is in more trouble with the law after he was allegedly caught out past his curfew.

CK police said officers saw him shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday and knew that he was subject to a probation-mandated curfew.

He was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Wanted man turns himself in

A 63-year-old Chatham man is facing a future court date after he turned himself in at Chatham-Kent police headquarters on Monday.

Police said the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant and was later released from custody.
