Final preparations are being made for the 35th annual Outstanding Business Achievement Awards (OBAAs).
Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce CEO Carrie McEachran said the nomination period ran from June 18 to August 25.
"We have 150 nominations this year, which is a bit up from last year. So, we're really excited about that," McEachran said.
Tickets were purchased in advance for the gala, which takes place on Friday at the Four Points by Sheraton.
"Our esteemed guests will be walking the red carpet as they come into our big gala," she said. "[There will be] lots of opportunities to connect with local businesses, organizations and community leaders who are all out to celebrate the greatness of the Sarnia-Lambton business community."
There are 12 award categories, including; large business of the year, medium business of the year, small business of the year, entrepreneur of the year, non-profit of the year, member of the year, green business, young professional, innovation, inclusivity, agri-business and excellence in customer service by an individual.
"After the awards have been given, there will be an opportunity to dance the night away," she added.
McEachran said 280 people are expected to attend the event, sponsored by Libro Financial.
