Fundraiser launched in memory of Arkona teen

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help the family of an Arkona teen killed in a farming accident last weekend.

Middlesex County OPP, along with Lambton EMS and area firefighters, responded to a property on Parkhill Drive in North Middlesex at around 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 20.

A 15-year-old was found unconscious after falling into a well, and was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Following the tragedy, an online fundraiser was launched to help the family of James Aaron Brown with funeral expenses and other immediate needs.

The GoFundMe page said any additional funds will then be set aside in trust accounts for James's three siblings.

As of Friday morning, over $52,000 had been raised towards a $60,000 goal.

In-person donations will also be accepted at the CIBC branch in Parkhill.

The fatal accident is under investigation by the Ministry of Labour and the Office of the Chief Coroner (OCC).
