Man accused of cutting wires from machinery
A 51-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been charged with mischief after he allegedly cut and removed some wires from machinery that was on a construction site in downtown Chatham.
Police said they were called to the scene on King Street West just before 4 p.m. Wednesday and learned that someone had seen the man tampering with machinery on the site.
The witnesses were also able to give police a description of the man and told officers where he was last seen heading.
Police found the man a short distance away and arrested him on an outstanding warrant.
He was charged and taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.
Police look for public assistance
Chatham-Kent Police are looking for the public's assistance in a theft and mischief investigation.
On July 20 and 24, unknown suspect(s) attended the St. Paul's Congregational Church on Park Avenue West in Chatham.
According to police, the suspect(s) removed copper tubing from the air conditioning units causing significant damage.

Man accused of threatening employee who confronted him for stealing
A 31-year-old Chatham-Kent man has a date with a judge after he allegedly threatened an employee in Chatham who was confronting him for theft.
Chatham-Kent police said that took place at a business on McNaughton Avenue West shortly after 12 a.m. Thursday.
Officers said the man allegedly threatened to harm the employee during an argument.
The accused was arrested, charged with uttering threats, and taken to police headquarters. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
Suspicious person turns out to be wanted by police
Chatham-Kent police are able to cross another name off of their wanted list thanks to a tip about a suspicious person early Thursday morning.
Police said they found a woman who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for mischief after someone filed a complaint about a suspicious person on Barthe Street in Chatham just after 6 a.m. Thursday.
Officers found her on Victoria Avenue and arrested her.
She was taken back to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.
