Wanted man arrested during disturbance call
A disturbance call on Wellington Street West in Chatham led Chatham-Kent police to a man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Police said they were called to the scene Thursday morning and arrested him.
The accused, a 47-year-old man of no fixed address, was arrested and later released pending a future court date.
Crash leads police to impaired driver
A 28-year-old Chatham man has been charged with impaired driving after a single-vehicle crash on Centre Side Road near Pioneer Line.
Police said they were called to the scene of the crash at around 11 p.m. Thursday, adding that during their investigation, they believed the man had been driving while under the influence of alcohol.
He allegedly failed a roadside test and was taken back to police headquarters for further breath tests before he was charged with impaired driving and later released pending a future court date.
Charges laid after two crashes in CK
A 57-year-old Oakville man is charged with failing to yield the right of way in connection with a two-vehicle crash that took place on Merlin Road near Queens Line Thursday afternoon.
No one was injured and the damage was estimated at $10,000.
Police were also called to a two-vehicle crash on Park Avenue East between Peter Street and Stirling Lane in Chatham.
No one was injured and the damage was estimated at $5,000.
Officers said the person responsible for the crash was charged with a Highway Traffic Act offence.
