UPDATE: Suspects identified in theft from Sauble Beach business

Hours after issuing a plea for help from the public, Grey Bruce OPP have identified two suspects in a pair of shoplifting incidents in Sauble Beach.

The manager of the unnamed store on Main Street told police that a man visited the business on Tuesday after which it was noticed that merchandise was missing. The man returned to the store the following day with a woman and is alleged to have stolen more items.

A dollar figure was not attached to the thefts.

Police released two surveillance photos of suspects in the case around 7:40 a.m. on Thursday and asked anyone who recognized the people pictured to call them. By 11:30 a.m., police announced a man and woman had been identified by investigators.

"The Grey Bruce OPP would like to thank the public for their assistance and continued support," police said. "Community cooperation plays a vital role in helping police resolve cases and maintain public safety."

At this time, no charges have been laid.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
