No suspects in Stratford stabbing that sent one to hospital

Stratford police are continuing to probe a stabbing at a picnic area in the city last weekend.

Officers were called to the area on Ontario Street at the end of Downie Street shortly after 2:30 a.m. last Saturday. There they found a person with a large cut on their back and who had been sprayed in the face with an unknown substance.

The person was taken to hospital where they were treated and released later the same day.

As of Thursday night, investigators confirmed they have no suspects in the matter.

Police are now asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area between 2 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. the day of the stabbing to call them. As well, police would like nearby businesses and residents to check their surveillance video footage for anything that would be of interest to investigators.
