Goderich resident accused of assaulting police officer

A Goderich resident is facing several charges after police responded to a disturbance in the town last month.

Huron County OPP say officers were called to Balvina Drive on the afternoon of August 18, 2025, where they encountered a person who became confrontational and allegedly uttered threats. Police allege the suspect resisted arrest, assaulted officers, and caused mischief before being taken into custody.

A 36-year-old Goderich resident is charged with three counts of assaulting a peace officer, three counts of uttering threats, obstructing and resisting police, and mischief under $5,000.

They were held for a bail hearing and later released, with a court appearance set for October 6 in Goderich.
