Mother Nature is reminding midwestern Ontarians it is still winter.
Following several days of mild, almost spring-like temperatures, bands of heavy snow will move through the region Thursday morning. This prompted Environment Canada to issue a winter weather travel advisory for Huron County, Perth County, and north Wellington County. It was ended around 9 a.m.
The national weather agency stated that only 2 to 5 centimetres of accumulation was expected, but visibility could suddenly be reduced at times due to the heavy snow. The nasty weather slowed the morning commute, especially in urban areas.
"Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop," Environment Canada said.
Conditions should improve later in the day Thursday. More snow is in the forecast heading into the weekend with another 5 to 10 centimetres of snowfall possible Friday afternoon.
